So I started Weight Watchers this morning. For breakfast I used up 10 FREAKIN POINTS ALONE!! ARRGGGHHH!!! LOL. I had 2 eggs on a 110 calorie bagel with a slice of cheddar cheese and 2 slices of bacon. But you know it's not that bad. Technically you should have most of your calorie intake during breakfast. As the saying goes "Eat like a King in the morning, a Prince for lunch, and a Pauper for dinner." I at least have a leg-up on a lot of people - I do not skip breakfast. Ever! So for lunch I brought a Smart Ones lunch that's worth 4 points and for dinner I've got chicken thawing and I'll have that with some green beans :)
I honestly don't think that this thing is going to be that hard. I have 34 points a day to work with to lose 5% of my weight. I set a small goal for right now so I don't set myself up to fail. As of right now I'm at 285 so I have to get to 270. Once I hit that I think my points will go down. Combined with all the points I have, plus my smaller stomach due to the weight loss surgery, it should be a breeze. For the first week, I'm going to focus more on this diet and get the hang of it before I really get into the excercising portion of it. I'll do some walks around work just to get away from the desk, but nothing strenuous. I want to see how well the diet works before the excercising.
Anyways - wish me luck! For anyone that follows this and actually does Weight Watcher, hit me up and tell me how you're doing!

- Hi All! I have decided to create this page as a sort of blob/inspiration/group help to lose some weight. Starting this Monday, July 19th, I have decided to finally start Weight Watchers. As many of you know, I had weight loss surgery two years ago this past May. For the first year and a half I was doing a fantastic job at losing the weight and keeping it off. But since last August, when we found out Greg had cancer, I went in a very deep rut. Dealing with the emotional heartache of cancer was really rough. So I got used to eating like crap and just not caring anymore. Well - I'm sorta sick of it now. I'm starting to gain weight back and I can actually feel it. I don't feel healthy anymore and I'm just tired all of the time. So I'm starting this with the intention of having help. I figure we can all have monthly meetings. Go out and do activities together. Like a girl's night out - but during days and with activities. Hiking, swimming, tennis - WHATEVER! LOL
Sounds like you're on the right track ;) I just got my book in the mail for what I'm aiming towards...it's called "The 80/10/10 Diet" by Dr. Douglas N. Graham. I'm going to read through it before I start on it, but it's a raw vegan diet. Here goes nothing!
